You

I stare all day at the expansive sky

Trying to fathom your totality, in vain

Won't you grace me with a glimpse

Like the moon, and ease my pain?

With my heart thirsting to feel

I wait at the edge of the ocean's blue

Won't you with outstretched hands

Caress my skin, like the waves do?

My core, bare, bereft of sound

My being, potent like a cord, taut

Awaiting to reverberate with a gentle strum

Won't you strike and erase the naught?

Is it the unknowing  or the willing you

That keeps me so far from your presence?

My longing, though, a silken thread

Binds me ever to your essence
